Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) requirements for 2025-26
We would like to inform you of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) requirements for the 2025–26 season.
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry has announced the updated Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) measures for the 2025-26 season. These measures apply to goods shipped from 1 September 2025 and arriving in Australia by 30 April 2026 (inclusive).
Key Changes for the 2025-26 Season:
- Addition of Republic of Korea and Japan to the emerging risk countries list.
- Target high risk goods arriving as airfreight from United States of America and China will be subject to random inspections.
- Addition of a NEW offshore BMSB treatment option Ethyl Formate.
- New application process for the BMSB in-transit and rolled policy.
